Research and Production Center for Non-Destructive Testing
Today, the Scientific and Production Center "KROPUS" (Integrated Development of Equipment for Industrial Ultrasonic Systems) unites more than ten companies working in the field of development and creation of non-destructive testing facilities.
History
The center is based on the team of the non-destructive testing department of the Federal Scientific-Production Center Pribor, a leading enterprise in the military industry, established in the USSR in 1941, as plant No. 398 for the production of fuses and ammunition equipment. In the future, the company consistently received the names of KB-398, GSKB-398, Scientific Research Institute of Instruments, NPO Pribor, Federal State Unitary Enterprise Federal Scientific-Practical Center Pribor.
In the 70s, a powerful department was organized at the then Research Institute of Pribory to meet the needs of the military industry in non-destructive testing equipment. Serial, developed by NIIIN equipment did not meet the high requirements in the industry for the functional characteristics for special tasks.
